What I’ve found is that rather than stifling creativity, these technologies are actually amplifying it. Think of it this way: a powerful new brush doesn’t make the painter any less of an artist; it simply gives them new ways to express their vision.
The biggest misconception is that technology replaces the artist. It doesn’t. What it does is take over the repetitive, often uninspired tasks that used to eat up so much of our time.
It frees us from the grunt work, allowing us to pour our energy into the truly creative aspects: defining the character’s backstory, imbuing them with personality, refining their unique visual language, and ensuring they evoke the right emotions.
I’ve personally experienced how an AI-generated prompt or a procedurally generated base can spark an idea I never would have thought of on my own, acting as a fantastic creative springboard.
The human element—our intuition, our empathy, our storytelling prowess—remains absolutely indispensable. Technology just gives us bigger, faster, and more imaginative canvases to bring those uniquely human visions to life.
